Lions in the Mist

This photo was taken on an early morning on the mist-shrouded Duba Plains in the Okavango Delta . It shows two male lions known as the Duba Boys emerging from the mist while on the hunt. This moody photograph spectacularly captures the spirit of the African wilderness and shows the power and confidence of these dominant male lions who ruled this territory for years.

Tshokwane: The Elephant That Let Me Live 1

This elephant named "Tshokwane" was one of a group of tuskers in the Kruger National Park called the Magnificent Seven because of their enormous tusks. This is the last photograph taken by Daryl when Tshokwane charged and trampled him underfoot while he was photographing the animal. Daryl was extremely lucky to survive the attack.
