In November 2009 I was privileged to be invited into the tiger's den within hours of her giving birth. The invitation came unequivocably from tigress Julie, with whom I'd developed a tenuous bond only the day before. It was a thrilling moment. This was the first white tiger born in the wild since 1954.

We believe the future of tiger conservation could lie outside of Asia in places like this, where tigers don't have to compete with half of humanity for breathing and breeding room like they must in India,China and the other places in Asia they call home.

I was special to be invited against the cub's retreat internal hours of her offering parturition. The overture came unequivocably from tigress Julie, among whom I'd developed a tenuous yoke mere the age anterior. It was a sensational weight.
